The next few weeks will be a great time to come to Grand Rapids MI for our seasonal walk and at the same time take in Artprize 2011. This will be the 3rd year for the annual art competition and at least half of our walk is in the "high density" venue area meaning that there are hundreds of exhibits, many of them outdoors, that can be taken in as you follow the walk route. Artprize 2011 runs from Sept 21 through Oct 9 so come for a visit. The AVA sanctioned 10k (or 5k option) walk starts at the Big Boy Restaurant on Pearl St. in downtown Grand Rapids.

Washtenaw Wanderers walking plans
From Washtenaw Wanderers AVA club President Stefan Szumko:
Greetings and Salutations!
Although it looks like winter might already be thawing out, the Washtenaw Wanderers will be meeting for an indoor walk at Briarwood Mall on Saturday, February 26, 2011. We'll meet at the entrance west of Von Maur at 8:45 and start walking at 9. No preregistration is necessary. Briarwood Mall is open early everyday throughout the year. If you start walking early or arrive late, look for us in our club T-shirts and say "hi." The "Winter Waddle" is a non-sanctioned event and is just for fun. Apparently one lap around the perimeter of the mall is just about 1 mile.
Also, the Fairywalk is scheduled for Sunday, April 3, 2011 starting at the Community Space of AnnArbor.com (301 E. Liberty, Ann Arbor, MI 48104), starting between 10am-1pm.
We're also planning another Ann Arbor walk on Sunday, May 15, 2011 starting at the Ann Arbor Artisan's Market (Farmer's Market), starting between 10am-1pm.
We hope to see you soon.
